Animation wins big in Odense
Saturday night was a big night for animation at the annual Oscar-qualifying Odense International Film Festival.
Besides the two animation awards, specifically awarded to animation, animation also took home the main prize at the festival, the H. C. Andersen Award, awarded to the best short film in the international competition amongst all selected films, animation or not.

Animation Competition
Awarded by The Danish Animation Society in collaboration with Odense Film Festival.
Børge Ring Award 2023 (Oscar Qualifying)
"Amok", dir. Balázs Turai – (Hungary, Romania)
Animation Talent Award
"Let Them Eat Cake", dir. Mathias Rodrigues Bjerre (Denmark)
Special Mention
“Forår”, dir. Pernille Kjær
Youth Competition
Youth Jury Award
"Dream", dir. Snobar Avani (Denmark)
Pitch Me Baby
Last but not least, the award for best pitch at the Pitch Me Baby competition, where the winner receives DKK 35,000 (EUR 4,600) for further development, went to the project "Alperne og Strygebrædt" by Marie Louise Højer-Jensen and Ditte Lundsgaard Nielsen.
