Conferences at VAF: CAVE and CAGA
With the exciting screening schedule at VAF this year, a person could fill their days and nights with sheer animation. But VAF has also become a cluster of events with related and overlapping topics and areas of interest.
This year’s Viborg Animation Festival will also be hosting two fascinating industry conferences, with impressive agendas of their own. Let’s look more closely at CAVE and CAGA.
The CAVE Conference
The Creative Arts of Virtual Entertainment conference is an annual event for both students and professionals to celebrate design and creativity in the games industry. Since 2022, the conference has been held in conjunction with VAF’s Game Days, featuring speakers, panel discussions, and demos from industry leaders and innovators.
While this year’s CAVE conference program has yet to be finalized, we are excited to spotlight a few of this year’s guests and speakers, including:

CAGA 24
This year’s Conference of AG Animation will be the 7th annual event taking place in conjunction with VAF. CAGA serves as a platform for scholars, professionals, artists, curators, and enthusiasts to learn, explore, and discuss the latest advances in animation.
CAGA aims to promote interdisciplinary dialogue, highlight cultural significance, examine technological influence, and explore the political and ethical implications of animation, while serving as a platform for networking, collaboration, and further research.
This year's theme is “The (R)Evolution of Animation: Current Challenges and Future Directions.” It will explore the rapid evolution of animation, and the ecological, political, ethical, and technological accomplishments of recent years, and challenges that lie ahead. This year's keynote speakers include:

These conferences present an amazing opportunity for animation audiences and industry professionals to engage with game and entertainment media in new ways, while advancing research, analysis, and expertise of both art and technology.
Stay tuned to the VAF programme as more exciting speakers, events, and discussions are announced.
